I. Introduction What is E-marketing /social network marketing/online advertising? Ever since the start of trading among humans, marketing has been around in one form or another. They used marketing as stories to convince others to trade with them. Since then, our methods of using marketing has now been long improved. It has grown to be more efficient at telling our marketing messages out there in the open (Harridge, 2004). E-marketing is the product between our modern age technologies and the old traditional marketing principles. It is the use of the Internet and the electronic media in aiding oneââ¬â¢s product or service to be known. Needless to say, using these approach is an important addition to the traditional marketing path whatever the size of your business may be. Similar to traditional marketing, e-marketing uses startegies, activites, and processes to the right audience with the desire of finding, appealing, and sustaining buyers. The only difference is that e-marketing is more broad in terms of its scope and options (Harridge, 2004). It uses the internet for marketing and promotions, not only that, it also uses e-mail and wireless media for marketing use. Examples of e-marketing are interactive online ads, viral marketing, online directories, and the like. 1. 1 Overview The Internet gives way for businesses to have an accesible and systematic course to let their products or services visible to consumers. But nowadays, it is very challenging for businesses to e-market and to have it have an effect on their sales and also to their productââ¬â¢s or serviceââ¬â¢s awareness since a huge number of companies are also taking advantage of the Internet. In this paper, we will research on how and why e-marketing became so in demand amongst businesses. I. 1 Purpose To have a clear understanding of the significance of e-Marketing today and why it became so popular. I. 2 Motivation Interactivity Traditional marketing is solely for letting the message of a brand known, while e-maketing on the other hand aids the conversation between the businesses and the consumers. With this kind of business to consumers and vice versa communication channel, the businesses can now have an idea on what they need to work on and imporve more on with the help of the responses made by the consumers through the said channel. With this, the businesses can also feed off of the feedback of their consumers, making them look more charismatic and flexible (Dou, 2009). Immediacy E-marketing can also give an immediate impact on ways never imagines before. Imagine yourself browsing through one of your favorite magazines and you suddenly came upon a double-page advertisment for some new product or service, maybe from Blackberryââ¬â¢s latest phone offering, Pradaââ¬â¢s newly released line or Ferrariââ¬â¢s latest luxury sportscar. Using this kind of traditional marketing media, itââ¬â¢s not that simple for you as a consumer to hear of the productââ¬â¢s actual purchase (Dou, 2009). Using e-marketing, it is now simple and easy to let the consumerââ¬â¢s know about the productââ¬â¢s actual purchase or even let the consumerââ¬â¢s buy the actual product. With a few short clicks, consumers can now order the lastest phone offering from Blackberry, making their business open for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I. 3 Organization The first thing that we will be discussing is why business adopts to E-marketing. Why a huge number of companies are now transferring most of their advertising budget on online marketing or also known as E-marketing rather than that of the old traditional marketing in magazines, newspapers, and the like. Second, we will be talking about of the impact of E-marketing today. Itââ¬â¢s advantages and disadvantages, and also the opportunities and threats that can bring into a company. Lastly, how using social networks can facilitate in the buying decision of the consumers. We will be discussing of the reasons why social networking sites are a helpful approach in the businessââ¬â¢s profit, how it can sell its product with the help of the feedbacks or recommendations seen in the Internet. How it will make or break their profit. II. Body II. 1 Why Businesses Adopt to E-marketing Traditional marketing made on prints and broadcast media had encountered so much challenges in the recent years. With newspaper prints are closing and television channels having ordeals from profits going down. A significant reason for this is because of the huge numbers of businesses and companies investing their budgets on online channels aside from the usual ones. A research by Forrester Jennings (2007) showed that the consumerââ¬â¢s attention is now shifting to online channels as 56 percent of people who are regularly online at home. And an estimate of 36 percent who are internet users, now watch less TV, 28 percent read less newspapers and magazines, and 17 percent listen less to radio stations since they went online. Nowadays, online advertising has now been the recipients of budgets related to advertising, coming from banner advertisements placed on websites that are frequently visited, from personalized e-mails in which it can be edited depending on the needs and wants of their target consumers. Businessesââ¬â¢s goals is for their product or service to be at the heart of the community, thatââ¬â¢s why a huge number of businesses are now developing their own websites, blogs, and forums online. With Web 2. 0, businesses are now given opportunities for them to get in touch and closer with their target market, this also includes data and information collecting; community sponsoring; and content providing such as news, music, and the like (Miller et al. , 2009). However, sometimes it can be challenging for a business tocatch the heart of a community since a businessââ¬â¢s major goal is to use and manipulate communication to their advantage. Thatââ¬â¢s why it is important for businesses to not only know but also understand which demographic segment uses the Internet the most. They have to undertsand the characterisitics of the internet-user for them to be able to design and come up wiith an effective and appropriate marketing approach to their target audience. Varadajaran and Yadav (2002) expalined that the use of Internet marketing complements the performance and capability of the marketing mix element , which are price, placement, product, and promotion, except the handling of the distribution itself of none-electronic productââ¬â¢s focal point is the shifting of the traditional marketplace to the non-traditional one, which is the web, which both has real-life and electronic marketplace. While Kalyanana and McIntyre (2002) says that e-marketing compared to the traditional marketing, has 7 more elements that are thought to be needed for businesses who are going to use e-marketing, this includes, customers service, privacy, site, community, security, personalization, and lastly, sales promotion. II. 2 Impact of E-marketing a. Generating Leads With Social Media Marketing b. Social Network Marketing Pitfalls c. Social Network Marketing Opportunities d. Social Network Marketing Threats II. 3 Using Social Networks to Facilitate Purchase Decision Making Social networking websites have a subjective purpose in aiding product choices, whether for a consumer to decide to buy or not. It is common knowledge that peer groups have a greater effect and influence over a buyerââ¬â¢s purchasing decision and a buyerââ¬â¢s behavior have recently shown that peer groups almost always has an effect on the final outcome. A lot of evidence has indicated that when contrasting the difference between professional or personal services, consumers are likely to listen for information or feedbacks coming from their families, friends, relative, and other personal contacts rather than that of a companyââ¬â¢s own review of its own product or service. But letââ¬â¢s not also forget that positive word-of-mouth recommendations that came from the customers or buyer who had an exceptional experience with the certain company plays a role for the success or downfall of a business. Therefore, the goal of a business is to maintain the flow of positive feedbacks through positive word-of-mouth recommendations and lessen the negative ones. Base on a study conducted, there is evidence reported that 64 percent of social networkers are likely to visit a page or website coming or knowing it from a friendââ¬â¢s site, while on the other hand, only 10 percent are likely to visit a website by direct referral from a social networking site if itââ¬â¢s an entertainment or music website (Hitwise, 2008). Nowadays, businesses are coming to realize that e-marketing is an increasingly important marketing strategy because traditional marketing has been less effective in influencing consumer behavior by the decreasing number of readers in conventional mediums like magazines and newspapers (Leskovec, 2008). There are also evidences seen that messages or feedbacks coming from online forums or communities are being trusted more compared than that of feedbacks coming from conventional mediums (Gillin, 2007). It was also reported that almost half of the internet-users will most likely buy a product or service if they saw a positive feedback or recommendation online from a customer/buyer, while reportedly, 34 percent of online-users did not buy a certain product or service due to the negative feedbacks they came upon online. It is also said that online-users tend to trust feedbacks or recommendations coming from online sources/e-marketing, rather than that of a feedback coming from a conventional source. To further show this proof, they conducted a survey showing that 25 percent of internet-users trusted a feedback coming from a well-known/famous web site, and 15 percent trusted the feedbacks coming from individual personal blogs of their friends or someone they knew. While on the other hand, only 14 percent of internet-users trusted a feedback coming from a newspaper article, 9 percent on a television commercial advertisement, 8 percent on a review on the companyââ¬â¢s own blog, 4 percent on an e-mail sent by a company, and 2 percent on an e-mail sent to them by the CEO of the company (Mandell, 2009) . 3. Seamus Heaneys When all the Others and Robert Haydens Those Winter Sundays Essay Example For Students
Seamus Heaneys When all the Others and Robert Haydens Those Winter Sundays Essay I found the work on these poems quite interesting, as the topic they covered, child/parent relationships is something we can all relate to as it is something we all have, or wish we have. I have never read any poem by either of these two poets, even though Seamus Heaney is quite a well known local poet. Both of these poems are quite memorable and well written. Both poems have a lot of feeling and both seem to seem like they are based on the poets true feelings towards the parent he was writing about in the poem. Seamus Heaney is a local poet, born in 1939 on a small farm in County Derry. At the age of twelve he was awarded a scholarship to St. Columbs College in Derry. He went on to Queens University. The first verses he wrote was when he was a young teacher. Years later in 1995, he won the Nobel Prize in Literature and in 1996, he was made a Commandeur de LOrdre des Arts et Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture. When all the Others is a poem written by Seamus Heaney about a memory of his mother that he found special and still remembers to this day. The poem is titled When all the Others as it is the beginning of the poem. The poem is laid out as a Sonnet and in the octave the memory is told, and in the sestet the theme is developed and the poem jumps forward to the death of his mother. The octave and sestet are connected closely as in the octave we learn of a memory he had where he felt close to his mother and in the sestet we learn that had been the closest to his mother he had been and I believe that by writing of her death, he is telling us how special he finds that memory, even though it is so simple it can be written in eight lines. The memory he tells us isnt something I would find special as it is about peeling potatoes with his mother. However, as you read it you realise he finds special the fact they were working together, and even though not a word is said you can tell he believes he and his mother bonded more in that one simple task than they had ever done. Throughout the poem there is a linking of sound with the last word of the first line and the last word on the second line. It becomes more accurate in the sestet. In the first two lines of the octave the events of Heaneys memory are established; we learn that the rest of his family were away at mass and that he was all hers as they peeled potatoes. The alliteration here could have been used to draw attention onto what he and his mother were doing. The words all hers give us a good idea of how he felt about the situation; that he was delighted to be alone with his mother. On the third line we learn that he and his mother werent speaking (as the falling of the potatoes broke the silence). One by one could be there to emphasise how the chore is repetitive. The fourth line seems out of place and could of simply been added so weeping was there which could been a link to the sestet. Alliteration is used again here on cold comforts. This I believe means that he and his mother had some comfort in that each one of them were doing the same cold task. The end of line five gives us another insight into how he felt about this chore; he was sharing the memories with his mother. Describing the splashes as pleasant in the sixth line could be Heaneys way of putting his mood and feelings into the poem. The ending of the octave could mean that as the work went on, they became more aware of each other. In the sestet the poem leaps forward many years to the bedside of his dying mother. .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c , .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c .postImageUrl , .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c , .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c:hover , .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c:visited , .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c:active { border:0!important; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c:active , .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u56658df68932c80c6a66c0a53683015c:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The terms postmodern and hypermodern EssayIn the first two lines describing the priest as going hammer and tongs tells us possibly he was slightly annoyed that the priest wasnt putting more care into the prayers and that the priest maybe had no emotional attachment to his mother. The fact he mentions the Priest could possibly be a link to the octave and the fact he and his mother only had that time together because the rest of his family was at Mass listening to a priest. The eleventh to thirteenth lines tell us that he neither responded to the priest nor cried instead he recalled the memory he wrote about in the octave. The last line; never closer the whole rest of our lives makes it clear to us that he never felt more close to his mother than he had while peeling the potatoes with her all those years ago. I found this poem quite moving in a sense it is a grown man writing down the memory in which he was the most intimate with his mother, the parent many of us are the most closest to. I also think he was quite brave to publish this poem as the memory is quite personal to him, Robert Hayden was an African American poet who grew up in a Detroit ghetto which must be where the memories from his poem came from. The strange thing is Hayden didnt live with his family but instead a foster family who lived next door. He finished school in 1932 and got into Detroit City College through a scholarship. He enrolled for an English Literature masters in 1941 and graduated in 1942. He went on to teach until 1969. Those Winter Sundays is quite a depressing poem. It tells us of Haydens father who self sacrificed his day off and went through pain to get up early and light the fire for his family, yet he was never thanked for it. It goes onto tell us hed wake his family only when the rooms were warm. Hayden does mention once a reason as to possibly why he never thanked him in the line fearing the chronic angers. So it could possibly be he never thanked his father and spoke indifferently to him as he was scared of being shouted at or worse. Whats worse is how the poem ends, with Hayden realising his father showed the love for him through getting up early and polishing his shoes for him, but now it is too late to thank him. Also even though it doesnt exactly keep to all the traditional rules of a sonnet e. g. having an octave and a sestet, but it is one as it is fourteen lines long and tries to keep each line ten syllables long. The first two lines of Those Winter Sundays simply set the scene. That his father got up early every day including Sundays and got ready to face the blueblack cold. This adjective is there to describe the darkness of the morning. The third and forth lines of the poem tells us that he had a manual labour job during the week that was out side as the weather cracked his hands. Cracked and ached have a rhyme to them that could be there to stress the pain his father was in. The last line tells us what his father was getting up for; to make banked fires blaze. Alliteration is used here to make the task his father done stand out. He got up early to make the house warm for his family. The ending of the first stanza has a shock to it; no one ever thanked him even though throughout it Hayden has been writing of the trouble his father went to. In the next stanza, he focuses on that Sunday, and how he awoke to hear the fire that was part of his fathers routine mentioned in the first stanza. The first line of the second stanza seems to have two meanings, when he awake hed hear the fire, but as well as that the cold was being destroyed by the fire; as you cant hear the cold splintering, breaking. .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 , .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 .postImageUrl , .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 , .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2:hover , .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2:visited , .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2:active { border:0!important; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2:active , .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2 .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u75829e91ac90c97812fa03b5674b0ae2:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Order to explore the poets EssayWhen the rooms were warm hed call; this line hints at the care his father had for Hayden and his family, only waking them to a warm house. The last two lines of the stanza have yet another surprise ending but may explain the ending of the first stanza. The ending here could explain why he lived with a foster family later on, that anger in the house is as part of the routine as the fire itself. The chronic angers mentioned here are not built on, so we dont know what has been happening. The beginning of the third stanza seems to point at the father as being the cause of the chronic angers as Hayden spoke indifferently to him even though we have learnt of the trouble his father has gone to for him and his family. Through out the poem there is a sense of the house slowly heating, from the fire being light to the cold splintering breaking. That ends on the tenth line; the man who had driven out the cold. We then go onto hear about extra trouble his father had gone to for him; in the line and polished my good shoes as well. The final two lines there is a feeling of regret on Haydens part. What did I know, what did I know of loves austere and lonely offices? This rhetorical question seems like Hayden is pleading he knew of how love doesnt have to be expressed as emotionally as it often is. It was only now that when he was older and his father was dead that he realised that his father didnt have to go to the trouble of lighting the fire and polishing his shoes, these acts were out of love for his son and family. Before this assignment I have never had to look at poems in such a detailed manner before and I have only realised now at how much work is put into poems and that many have hidden meanings and allegories in them. Of the two poems I have looked at my favourite has to be When all the Others by Seamus Heaney as it is more uplifting while Those Winter Sundays as Robert Hayden ends his poem with regret and remorse. I also prefer the poem by Heaney simply for the story it tells. Although I found both poems moving for the different messages each one contained. Both poems however make me realise that the time I have with my parents is special and when I can, I should make the most of it.

What to Ask on a College Tour
Touring colleges is a quintessential high school experience, and a great opportunity to learn about prospective schools. ââ¬â¹Every college student is able to recognize the starry-eyed high schoolers who swarm campus regularly to explore and follow their dreams. After all, that was them just a few months or years ago. Ultimately, these tours are not extended interviews. Theyââ¬â¢re often given by trained students, and can sometimes feel a bit like a sales pitch. However, they are great opportunities to learn about the school, and to get real perspectives on what itââ¬â¢s like to be a student there. So, if you can manage to slip in a few words between those of overzealous parents, it might be helpful to think along the following lines: Ask questions that will help you prepare to answer a ââ¬Å"why this school?â⬠essay question. Not every school has them, but being able to demonstrate understanding of culture and fit in other essays is equally important. You should try to absorb information like a sponge, and if you donââ¬â¢t understand something, ask. Donââ¬â¢t be afraid to ask questions specific to your plans. Even if you are a prospective music major, and your tour guide is an engineer, donââ¬â¢t be afraid to learn about what youââ¬â¢re interested in. The worst case scenario is that your tour guide says he/she doesnââ¬â¢t know. However, it is more likely that their training has supplied them with answers related to the schoolââ¬â¢s resources in your prospective field. Perhaps they even have a friend similar to you whom they could connect you with, or speak on the behalf of. Ask the tough questions. This is your chance to interview the school. You want to decide whether or not to apply or attend. If bad dining hall food is a deal breaker for you, ask your tour guideââ¬â¢s opinion, and find out how you can try it yourself. If you need libraries with plush chairs, find out if they exist. Whatever it is, get to the bottom of it. You wonââ¬â¢t regret having more information when itââ¬â¢s time to make a decision. Prepare ahead of time. Research the college/university youââ¬â¢re visiting online before you visit. This way, you have the basic background upon which to build a more advanced understanding, and donââ¬â¢t waste your time asking questions that you can find answers to with a quick Google search. Think about what you really care to ask, and prepare thoughtful questions. Itââ¬â¢ll make your visit much more worth the trek. And in order to cover all the basis, check out this fun video of what not to ask. How to Ask for What You Want at Work
How to Ask for What You Want at Work Itââ¬â¢s a fact of life that you will rarely be handed exactly what you want in in your career. Itââ¬â¢s up to you to take control of your future and move it in your most ideal directionââ¬âif you sit around and wait for people to take notice and reward you, you might be waiting for a long time. If youââ¬â¢re feeling undervalued at work, hereââ¬â¢s a surefire plan to organize your thoughts and make a plan before you approach the powers that be.Put into words what is making you unsatisfied. Do you feel your salary is too low? Are your hours too inconsistent? Do you despise working with a specific client? The first step will lead you to the nextââ¬âand most importantââ¬âstep: identify exactly what it is you want. A raise? A better shift schedule? To be relived of your client? Be specificââ¬âit is important to have a concrete goal you can clearly express.Next, envision how your work life will be better if your ideal situation comes true. How might this change make you more valuable to your employer? What are the major selling points you can offer for making this change? Finally, create a plan and put it into action. What is the best method in your workplace for making a change? Send that email or make that call, set up a meeting, and put your best foot (and argument) forward.Even if making and implementing a detailed plan does not lead to your ideal results, your voice and demands will have been heard. If nothing else, a proactive attitude always lets your supervisors know youââ¬â¢re serious about your future.

Face Negotiation Theory Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
Face Negotiation Theory - Essay Example To begin with, the research will administer a number of questionnaires to several participants in various different national cultures asking them to give a description of interpersonal conflict. After administering the questionnaires, the major findings of the this study came as follows; cultural individualism collectivism revealed direct and indirect effects on conflict styles, self-face and other-face related positively with independent self construal. Additionally, self-face related positively with conflict styles that are dominant and other-face related positively with integrating and avoiding styles, and finally, face accounted for all of the total variance explained (Littlejohn and Foss 172). However, it is worth noting that, face dominated and avoided some of the variances explained when considering face concerns, cultural individualism- collectivism, and self-construal. According to Stella, conflict earns the meaning, a perceived and actual incompatibility of values, processes, expectations, and outcomes between two or more parties over relational or substantive matters. In this research, a number of investigations make maximum use of the face negotiation theory. With reference to face negotiation theory, the author argues that face is an explanatory mechanism for management different styles of conflict within different cultural groups. Face is a representation of a claimed sense of a positive image of an individual in the context of social interaction. The general tendencies of patterned responses to conflict in a variety of antagonistic interactive situations refer to styles of managing conflicts. Face negotiation theory has strength whereby, it provides an explanatory and organized framework for behavior conflicts (Littlejohn and Foss 175). Nevertheless, the underlying assumption that face is an explanatory mechanism for conflict behavior has no previous tests. Prior investigations did not measure face directly but rather used face post hoc in explaining the relationship between conflicts and variables of culture. Hence, this research sought to incorporate testing the assumption that face is the explanatory mechanism for the relationship between culture and conflict management style as well. Research findings shows that, face negotiation theory provides a decisive framework of explanation for describing differences and similarities in face and face work during times of conflict. Concisely, the face negotiation theory argues that, in all cultures, people try to maintain and negotiate face in all communication situations. In addition, the concept of face becomes problematic especially in situations where there is uncertainty such as conflict or embarrassment circumstances (Littlejohn and Foss 191). This happens when situated identities of communication respond to questioning. Individual level variables, variability of culture , as well as variables of situation influence
